On Web Typography: the most powerful tool for communicating with your audience
Stuart provides some insight into the book On Web Typography, and how it shapes your design voice.
Over the past few months, in-between projects and the odd brew I’ve been collecting a variety of FREE and NOT SO FREE playful and professional fonts available for download.
Galano Grotesque has a modern streak which is the result of a harmonization of width and height especially in the lowercase letters to support legibility.
Designed based on the Campton Family, with the same principles in mind: geometry, simplicity and neutrality.
Nice and familiar without being too sweet, and very readable even at small sizes, thanks to its sober shapes and its simple construction.
UGO is a unique font that plays with different layers to achieve great 3D effects.
Rounded, simple, space-ie typeface family entitled Moon, with both thin and bold variations, free for personal use only.
French Art Director Axel Bizon creates the handmade free font BIZON. Free for Personal and Commercial use!
Pier is a modern and structured typography. The idea was to create a slightly off geometric font that would look as good big or very small.
Pirou is an experimental outline typeface inspired by Didot. The font contains more than 300 characters including uppercase, lowercase, numbers, symbols, ligatures and accents.
A manual handdrawn brush font. It’s brutal, rough and messy, with ligatures to avoid twice the same glyph… Not sure if this is still free!

Bebas-tam is a great joke in Hungary. It means I’m drunk, so the italic font symbolized the drunk people.
Growl Rounded is a free experimental hand-drawn typeface released for personal use only.
Bauru it’s a free typeface designed by Pier Paolo. Bauru is inspired by Didone typefaces.
